Formula Cruisers announce sale of first ICON 42
Formula Cruisers are delighted to announce sale of the first Formula built ICON 42. Designed for offshore game fishing, this ICON 42 will make it's home in the waters off Papua New Guinea late in 2011.
"The owners brief was for an excellent sea boat built to the highest standards and able to perform in the open waters off PNG. The 42 design, combined with Formula Cruisers reputation for building excellence and our ability to customise the boat were the deciding factors in the decision to build with Formula" says Troy Woods, Formula Sales and Marketing Manager.
The ICON 42 model was previously known as the Eureka 42 and built in Australia before being acquired by Formula in 2010. A number of refinements have since been made including the introduction of a more cruising orientated pod drive version. However this particular boat will feature a shaft drive configuration including twin Cummins QSM 11, 715 hp engines. The interior layout will be customised slightly at the owners request, including the removal of one bathroom giving extra space to the twin cabins and additional storage.
"It is pleasing to see the hard work put in by everyone at Formula over recent years paying off with sales underway across our model range. With this latest sale we will have an ICON 54, Prowler 10.4 power cat and ICON 42 under build simultaneously" says Woods. "All three boats are for export, with the 54 heading to Perth, the Prowler to NSW and the 42 to Papua New Guinea, and with strong enquiry levels at present we are looking forward to a solid period ahead for the company"
