The Seahouse Story
Seahouse Boats has come about through a long family history involvement with the sea which goes back to the English border town of "Seahouses"and the family of Great Grandfather Tom Rutter.

Tom Rutter was entrusted with tending the lighthouses at Seahouses, he was a crew member of the lifeboat and was also a fisherman.

In 1913 his son Robert Rutter came to New Zealand where he became a fisherman and a coal miner at Shag Point in Otago. He moved to Dunedin and later moved out to the seaside township of Brighton where the family love affair with the sea was to continue with fishing and boatbuilding.

Roberts son Allan would eventually take over and in turn his son Paul would continue the tradition to present day.
From this strong tradition has come the current design concepts that drive "Seahouse Boats".
