Racing in the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland regatta was abandoned on Friday in the face of a forecast south-west wind expected to build to 30 knots in the afternoon.

Today's racing schedule will slip to Saturday and the final flight in the round robin will be raced on the scheduled lay day next Tuesday.

As a consequence the international crews got a day off the water.

But there was no rest for Emirates Team New Zealand yachtsmen and shore crew. They took the newly refitted TP52 out sailing at 9.30am.

The TP52 will be shipped soon to Europe for the team's 2010 campaign on the Audi MedCup circuit. The first regatta will be held in Cascais, Portugal, starting on Tuesday May 11.

Subsequent regattas will be held at Marseille (France), Barcelona, Cartagena (Spain) and Cagliari (Italy).

Saturday's weather: South-west wind 10 – 20 knots. A few showers possible.

Saturday's race schedule:

Emirates Team New Zealand v ALL4ONE

Aleph v TEAMORIGIN

Artemis v Azzurra

Mascalzone Latino v Synergy
